How to choose a Vinted management tool in 2026

6 August 2026 · 8 min read

In 2026, a Vinted seller looking for a management tool has plenty of choice: half a dozen exist, all "complete", all "all-in-one". Comparison pages abound — mostly written by the vendors themselves. Rather than yet another ranking, here are the criteria that actually make a difference in daily use, and the questions to ask before paying.

1. How does the tool get your data?

This is the most structural criterion, and the least advertised. There are four methods, with very different consequences:

  • Manual entry: reliable, but it is exactly the work you wanted to avoid.
  • Parsing Vinted emails: no risk, but limited to what Vinted sends you — no stock, no wardrobe.
  • A read-only extension: it reads the Vinted session you already have open, without a password and without publishing anything on your behalf.
  • An extension that writes to Vinted (listing, automatic relisting): powerful, and also the grey area. Vinted has no public seller API, and its terms govern automation.
The question to ask: "does the tool act on my Vinted account, or does it only read?" If the answer is "it lists for you", ask what happens to your account if Vinted changes its stance. That is not a reason to refuse — it is a reason to know.

2. What does it do with your purchase prices?

Many tools show your revenue. Very few show your real margin, because that requires carrying the purchase price of every item — including when you buy in bulk and the cost has to be split pro rata. A dashboard that says "£1,200 this month" without saying what it cost you is useless for deciding your next purchases.

3. Bookkeeping: how far does it go?

"Bookkeeping" covers three very different levels. Check which one is offered:

  • a simple sales summary;
  • a net result (revenue − purchases − Vinted fees − other costs);
  • enough to file a return: income by period, VAT tracking, exports.

In the UK, remember that Vinted reports to HMRC above roughly £1,700 or 30 transactions a year. Only the third level saves you time when it actually matters.

4. Buyer invoices

A professional seller must be able to issue an invoice. Check whether the tool generates and sends them automatically, with continuous numbering — that is the legal requirement, and it is also what separates a real back office from a tracking spreadsheet.

5. Consignment and bundles

Two rarely covered functions, yet decisive once you outgrow clearing your own wardrobe: managing consignors (commission per person, amount owed, statements) and bundles (a bale bought for £80 whose cost must be split across each piece pro rata). If you do either, they will decide your choice.

6. Multiple shops, languages, markets

If you run several Vinted accounts, check that they consolidate into one dashboard — not merely that they are "supported". If you sell in both the UK and the EU, check that the tool knows they are separate tax jurisdictions since Brexit.

Five questions to ask before paying

  1. Does the tool write to my Vinted account, or only read?
  2. Where is my data hosted, and can I export it if I leave?
  3. Can I try it without a card?
  4. What happens to my history if I stop the subscription?
  5. How many shops and items are genuinely included in the advertised price?

Where Fripilot stands, honestly

Fripilot is a back office: bookkeeping, stock, margins, invoices, consignment, bundles, deliveries, multiple shops, six languages and two markets (France/Europe and the UK). Its extension is read-only: it reads the Vinted session you already have open, never asks for your password and publishes nothing on your behalf — a deliberate choice, not a technical limit.

What Fripilot does not do: it does not create your listings, does not relist them automatically and does not cross-post them to other platforms. If that is what you need, a listing tool will suit you better — and nothing stops you running both.

The trial runs for 30 days, no card required: the best way to decide is still to connect your real shop and see whether the numbers speak to you.
