On Vinted, the back-to-school season does not start in September. It starts now. We continuously track sales across the French catalogue, and the shift to autumn is already visible in late-July figures.
Here is what 410,832 sales classified by type say, measured over two two-week windows: 8-21 June, then 13-26 July.

Your plan for the next three weeks
- From mid-August — coats and warm jackets. Their share already doubles in late July, and they are the highest-value pieces in your stock. Don't save them "for October": buyers anticipate, and you'll be lost in the crowd at peak season.
- From mid-August — school bags and backpacks. +94% share, with a median price of €14, the highest of all tracked types. It is the shortest window of the year: it closes in early September.
- Late August — jumpers, sweatshirts, jackets. The jumper is already the second most-sold type on the site (17.45% of sales). That is the volume that makes September's revenue.
- Right now — clear out summer. Dresses and t-shirts lose a third and a quarter of their share. Every week of waiting costs you: cut prices, bundle, and free up cash to buy winter stock.
Median prices observed
In July, median selling price: school bag and backpack €14, shoes €10, jacket and blazer €10, jeans €8, coat €8, jumper and sweatshirt €5. A coat does not sell for more than a pair of jeans at the median: what makes your margin is not the type of item, it is the price you paid for it.
What these figures do not say
Our history starts in May 2026, so we are comparing a two-month trend, not two years. The direction is clear, but it does not replace your own history. If you were already selling last year, the question that matters is: what actually sold in your shop between 15 August and 30 September? That is exactly what Fripilot gives you in two clicks, with real margin by type and by source — and no spreadsheet to maintain.
