September is coming: the UK reseller's autumn plan for Vinted

27 August 2026 · 5 min read

Autumn is the strongest stretch of the UK second-hand year: wardrobes turn over, students kit out, and the weather does your marketing for you. Here is the calendar that turns it into sales.

Late August – mid September: back to school & uni

List now: backpacks, hoodies, jeans, trainers, sportswear in youth and small-adult sizes. Freshers buy entire capsule wardrobes cheaply — bundles shine here. Keyword your titles with sizes and brands students actually search.

September – October: the first cold snap

The single most reliable demand spike of the year: the week temperatures first drop, searches for knitwear, coats, jackets and boots explode. The winners are sellers whose winter stock is already listed — photograph coats in August, not when the frost arrives. Wool, leather, and recognisable outdoor brands carry the season.

October: Halloween's quiet goldmine

Not costumes only: anything that could be a costume — 90s pieces, leather trousers, band tees, statement dresses — gets a second search audience. Retitle relevant stock to catch it.

November: early Christmas & party season

Two currents at once: gift buyers hunting premium brands in like-new condition, and party-season buyers after occasion wear. Sequins, velvet, silk, smart tailoring — list by early November; the window closes fast after mid-December.

Working the season like a pro

  • Rotate hard: summer stock into storage, don't let it bury your winter listings.
  • Price with the curve: a coat is worth more on the first cold Saturday than in January's sales.
  • Watch your numbers weekly: autumn moves fast — days-to-sell and category performance tell you what to source more of while it still matters.
The autumn rule: whoever lists earliest catches the spike. Your competitors photograph coats in October; do it now.
